Barcelona Print

This exercise researches the potential of metal etching and press printing as tool to represent architectural ideas. Using as a reference the renowned Nolli map of Rome develop by Giambattista Nolli in 1748 as a composition of copper etched plates, participants are encouraged to replicate the process developing a number of individual plates of the city of Barcelona using cyanotipe and zinc acid etching techniques. Once the individual plates are press printed together the overall map of Barcelona is revealed.
