In the context of the course Introduction to Model Making at the Berlin International University the students are asked to design and build a series of objects in real scale using different Techniques.

The exercise; ‘What a Lamp’, consists of designing and constructing a table lamp using laser cut wood pieces, which encapsulate and filter the light through planes placed in different positions. The assembly of the piece is done without glue, which allows the lamp to be disassembled and transported in a simpler way. The final result can be left untreated with the wood finish or painted in any colour.
